ChairCal vs StyleSeat
StyleSeat is a marketplace.
We're the tool that fills your chair.
StyleSeat costs $35 a month, and most of that goes to a marketplace and an "AI Insights" dashboard. If your clients come from Instagram and word of mouth — not from styleseat.com — you're paying for traffic you don't need. Here's the honest swap.

What StyleSeat has that we don't — and when it matters
- AutoCheckout & Instant Payouts (POS, card-on-file)
- Marketplace listing + new-client funnel on styleseat.com
- Email + text marketing campaigns ("drive rebookings")
- AI business-insights dashboard
- Loyalty / rewards program
- Forms (intake, waivers)
- Native iOS / Android app
AutoCheckout and the marketplace are the two that genuinely move dollars. If most of your new clients still come through StyleSeat's marketplace, that funnel is real and we don't have a substitute for it. Keep your StyleSeat profile up for discovery; run ChairCal for the booking and cancellation side. If your funnel is already Instagram and word of mouth, the StyleSeat marketplace isn't moving the needle — switch fully.
FAQ
If you're considering the switch.
Probably not yet — at least not fully. StyleSeat's marketplace is real demand and we don't replace it. The honest move: keep your StyleSeat profile up for discovery, and run ChairCal as the booking + cancellation + inbox layer for your regulars. Your new-client funnel stays on StyleSeat, your repeat business runs on ChairCal — and when StyleSeat-found clients turn into regulars, they're in your ChairCal client list for the cancellation blast.
Yes. If your bookings come from Instagram, word of mouth, and your existing client base, you're paying $35/mo for a marketplace you don't use. ChairCal at $19/mo (founders rate) does the parts of StyleSeat you actually need — booking page, client list, reminders — and adds the parts they don't have: Fill (a real priority-blast when someone cancels), Process Time (fit a cut inside a color), and one inbox for all texts and emails per client.
Yes. Export your clients as CSV from your StyleSeat account, then drop the file into ChairCal during onboarding. Your top regulars are in the cancellation rotation before you finish setup.
ChairCal doesn't take card payments end-to-end yet — POS is on the roadmap. For now, you keep using your card reader (Square, Stripe Reader, whatever) for in-chair checkout. You'll lose the same-day-payout convenience StyleSeat advertises, which is a real tradeoff for people who depend on it. If "money in my account tonight" is your hard requirement, stay on StyleSeat until ChairCal ships POS.
Inside the StyleSeat marketplace, yes — it ranks you among other StyleSeat stylists. Outside it, it's invisible. If you don't depend on StyleSeat traffic, the search rank inside their marketplace doesn't move dollars into your books. The thing that moves dollars is whether the slot at 2 PM next Friday is filled or empty. That's the math ChairCal optimizes.
