GlossGenius is a strong product. If you actively use POS or run email/SMS marketing campaigns through the booking tool, those are real reasons to stay. If you mostly use it for the booking page + reminders + waitlist + processing time, ChairCal does those same jobs for less money and adds the unified inbox on top. ChairCal doesn't take card payments end-to-end. The smoothest path: keep a Square reader (or Stripe Reader) for in-chair checkout, and let ChairCal handle bookings, cancellation recovery, and the client inbox. You'll save on the GlossGenius monthly fee; you'll lose the 2.6% in-app card rate.
Cancellation recovery you don't have on Standard. GlossGenius puts its automated waitlist on Gold at $48/mo. Fill is included at the $19/mo founders rate: you tap Send, your regulars get the text a second apart, and the first to tap gets 60 seconds to confirm. Processing time you already have on Standard, and so do we. We also add one thread per client for texts and emails together, which we couldn't find on any GlossGenius tier as of October 2026.
Honest answer: you might not need to. Gold gets you most of what we do well, plus things we don't do — POS, gift cards, forms, Google Reviews. The honest math: switching saves you $19–$29/mo in fees. If you don't lean on the Gold-only tools like forms, Google Reviews and the waitlist, it's straightforward. If you do, the math is tighter. Fill is a one-tap send you start. Your regulars get the text a second apart. The first to tap gets 60 seconds to confirm, so nobody gets bumped mid-booking. Fill works for openings more than 12 hours out. Same-day openings inside 12 hours go through the waitlist. GlossGenius puts its automated waitlist on Gold.
Bring your clients in from a GlossGenius export. Open Clients › Import and drop in the .csv or .xlsx file, up to 5,000 clients. ChairCal recognizes an export from Square, GlossGenius, Vagaro, or StyleSeat and matches its columns for you; for any other spreadsheet, you tell it which column is which. Names, mobile phones and emails come across, plus notes, last visit and visit count when your file has them. Opening alerts are opt-in — each client chooses to hear about cancellations when she books or replies YES to an invite you send.
